How K’s Outfitter Got Its Start!

My name is David Kuhn, and fishing has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania, where Holbert Creek and the Lackawaxen River became my classroom. Every bend, pool, and riffle taught me something new—patience, respect, and the joy of discovery. Those waters shaped me, and they gave me a lifelong passion for the outdoors.

At 17, I joined the Marine Corps, leaving home just three days after my 18th birthday. Even during my ten years of service, fishing never left me. Whether casting for bass in San Diego’s lakes or chasing tuna in the Pacific, the water always grounded me. It gave me peace when life felt uncertain.

Coming back to civilian life was harder than I expected. Like many veterans, I faced challenges, including PTSD. I tried different paths to healing, but none gave me lasting relief—until I rediscovered fly fishing. The rhythm of the cast, the sound of the river, the focus on the present moment—it became more than a hobby. It became a way to breathe again.

Over the past 40 years, I’ve honed my skills in fly, spin, bobber, and bottom fishing. But more importantly, I’ve learned that fishing isn’t just about the catch. It’s about healing, reconnecting, and finding yourself in the quiet pull of the current.

Today, as the owner and guide of K’s Outfitter, I share that passion with others. My goal is simple: to help people experience the same peace and renewal that fishing has given me. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned angler, I invite you to join me on the river—not just to fish, but to find something deeper

What are you waiting for? Book your journey today—and let me help you learn, explore, and enjoy the outdoors the way I have my entire life.
